About The Pastor

Dr. Phenues Bush received his license to preach in 1964. He has been preaching the word of God and married to his wife Frances for over 50 years. In May of 2005 Dr. Phenues Bush will have been the Pastor of Union for 35 years. He accepted the call to Union in 1970 on Mother's Day.

During his time at Union, Pastor Bush has cleared previous debts, restructured the Church's financial system, and organized various auxiliaries. With the purchase of two vans the Bus Ministry was organized. Pastor Bush instituted courses in computers and organized the following Ministries: Married Couples, Singles, Union Outreach, Food Pantry, Junior Nurses and Ushers. Pastor Bush has also taught Membership, Laymen, and School of Religion courses. Through his teaching of the Saturday morning Men's Class, several deacons were added to the staff. About The First Lady

Frances Crockett Bush was born in Madison County Tennessee. She accepted Jesus Christ as personal Savior, was baptized at an early age by Rev. Dan Phenisee-at the Pleasant Plains Baptist Church. After receiving Christ in her life she served in many Ministries of the church as: Sunday School Secretary, Choir Member, Youth and Children Department Director until adulthood. Rev Phenues and Mrs. Frances Crockett were united in Holy Matrimony August 1955. The proud parents of Rhoda Walker, Janice Bush-White, Loletha Bush, Jeanine Cribbs, and Paul N. Bush. Foster & play parents to Regina Dantels-Reid, Vernell Gray, Linda Buggs, Mary Rogers and Adele Adams, Respectively. They are the very proud grandparents of twelve and Great grand parents to six.

Frances began her academic education at Pleasant Plains Elementary School, continuing to Stigall-Humboldt and Merry High Jackson Tennessee. Since that time she has been in Christian service with: State Nurses Health Unit, First Vice President, Woman's Missionary Auxiliary local. District & State. Assistant and Youth Fellowship Director, class Instructor, Pianist, and Financial Secretary, for the Central District Association and Congress of Christian Education of Illinois.

Mrs. Bush has worked with the newly organized Unity District Association and Congress of Christian Education as: Baptist Youth Fellowship Director, (BYF), Class Instructor, past President of the Woman's Department. She spends a great deal of time with the local youth, well as Baptist General State Convention of Illinois Minister's Wives Director and the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.

She has led many to Christ and encouraged countless more as Lecturer, Public Speaker, Seminar Leader, Class Instructor, Poet and Teacher of Biblical principles. Mrs. Bush is a Graduate-of Champaign School of Practical Nursing, Bloomington College of Beauty Culture- certificate of Master Consultant for Skin Care Aloette Cosmetic Company. She has completed classes in the National Baptist College of Christian Education, USA Inc., and Baptist General State Convention of Illinois. Certified Graduate in Clerical Arts Seminar, Training of Youth, Children and adults.
